What is Osteoarthritis?
Osteoarthritis is a degenerative joint condition that occurs when the cartilage cushioning your joints gradually wears down over time. This can cause pain, stiffness, and reduced mobility, making everyday tasks like walking or bending more challenging. If left untreated, osteoarthritis can worsen, leading to increased discomfort and further limitations. At Tri Physical Therapy in Phoenix, AZ, we specialize in managing osteoarthritis to improve joint function and alleviate symptoms. With personalized care, we can help you maintain mobility and enhance your quality of life.
How is Osteoarthritis Treated?
When medications and over-the-counter remedies are not enough to provide relief, Tri Physical Therapy offers personalized physical therapy sessions to manage osteoarthritis effectively. Physical therapy for osteoarthritis may include therapeutic exercises to strengthen muscles, improve flexibility and range of motion, and reduce pain. Our team may recommend assistive devices like braces or splints to support your joints. We can also offer tips on how to modify your daily routines and activities to reduce the strain on affected joints.
What are the Benefits of Osteoarthritis Treatment?
Managing osteoarthritis symptoms can make a big difference in your daily life. At Tri Physical Therapy, we help patients address symptoms early so they stay in control and avoid complications down the road. Here’s how it can benefit you:
- Relieve pain and discomfort in areas like the knees, hips, hands, and other joints
- Improve joint function to make activities like climbing stairs, lifting, and bending easier
- Protect your joints and reduce the risk of further damage or cartilage loss
- Restore mobility, so walking, standing, and moving feel more natural and comfortable
- Support an active lifestyle, so you can enjoy hobbies and stay independent
Can osteoarthritis be cured?
Unfortunately, there is no cure for osteoarthritis. However, proper management through physical therapy, lifestyle changes, and supportive care can reduce symptoms and improve joint function. Our expert team in Phoenix, AZ, is proud to provide solutions so you can lead an active and fulfilling life.
How does osteoarthritis progress over time?
Osteoarthritis typically starts with mild symptoms like occasional joint pain or stiffness. As it progresses, the cartilage continues to wear down, leading to more frequent pain and reduced joint function. In advanced stages, symptoms may include constant pain, significant loss of mobility, and visible joint deformities.
When should I seek treatment for osteoarthritis?
You should seek treatment if you experience persistent symptoms that interfere with your daily activities. If over-the-counter remedies or home treatments are no longer providing relief, it’s time to consult a professional at Tri Physical Therapy. Early intervention can help slow the progression of osteoarthritis and improve your quality of life.

Awesome place to go for a massage. I had tension in both shoulders and sciatica on my right side. It usually takes about 2-3 sessions to release. Katy did it in one session! My knots are gone along with the sciatica. Tension is gone!
